Hoping for some help with my 2.5 year old azure blue named Daisy. She molted in late September and seemed to be done. She didn’t have a ‘hard’ molt since none of her skin was visible but she did replace what looks like almost all of her feathers.

Last week I noticed reddish clay coloured poop (I will include a photo) but none of my chickens seemed sick. Found out it was coming from her.

Then this week I noticed that her ears which are usually pale blue almost white, have turned a yellow tinge. There are no scabs and it’s not fully yellow. Almost old/ dirty looking.

And NOW she has dropped a band of her feathers behind her neck about an inch under her comb. And random (healthy looking) feathers here and there on her body. She also stopped laying about 2 weeks ago but I didn’t think anything of it since it’s been very cold and days have been short.

Her comb has also shrunk, and the tips are curling inwards. She’s always had a pale comb/face/waddles so the colours hasn’t changed drastically but has lightened slightly.

I will include photos of her comb now vs before as well as poop and one of the missing feather spots. I feel like I’m missing something big and probably very obvious. She’s still walking around although cold and is drinking and eating fine when I’ve watched her. Pls help I’m so confused.

I’ve also included pictures of her feet in case I’m missing mite activity or something honestly idk.

Also! Almost all of her clay coloured poops have been solid with a white cap. That one I was poking around in it looking for something. Every once in a while she will poop and it’ll be slightly watery although I’m not sure if I’d classify it as diarrhea since it’s mostly solid?

Do you have a rooster? Sometimes roosters will accidentally pull out some head feathers when they are mounting a hen.
No I have no rooster and usually Daisy is the one beating on everyone else especially at night. I checked her feathers and none seem to be torn up at the ends or broken from picking or anything. Just clean out from the skin. Also no blood. Who knows tho maybe someone went after her like a pecking order thing?

She needs more fluids. Can you give her some electrolytes? I have a recipe if needed.
Yes please I’d love the recipe if you’re able to share! I occasionally give them electrolytes that I bought at the feed store but they expired last month and I haven’t re purchased any. She’s been getting excited for the water in the run in the morning up until a few days ago when she turned more or less indifferent. Should I be dripping the electrolytes in her mouth in case she isn’t drinking enough? Or is leaving it in the waterer enough? I don’t keep any water in the coop as it freezes solid overnight (it has been between -10 and -20 consistently) and my water heater won’t fit anywhere safely.

I would try to give/ syringe her at least 10-20 ml of the electrolytes right in her mouth. I would not recommend adding with the water.
Electrolytes :
4 cups water
1TBSP Apple cider vinegar
1/2 + 1/4 tsp Molasses
1/4 tsp salt
mix together and keep in a cool dark place.

🥰 Hope that works for you.

Amazing thank you! Should I be giving her 10-20 ml once daily? And would it be safe to still add an electrolyte mix to the communal waterer or is that overboard lol. The stuff I used to put in their water is just a bunch of different vitamin powders.

Yes once a day😊

If its not a metal waterer, then yes you can add to their water.
