I have a 5 month old what was supposed to be a pullet, but I think is a cockerel, back in June he had sudden onset ataxia, couldn't get around very well, would fall back on his butt, really the only symptom, other than that he was alert and eating and drinking, I wormed him (we had a very wet spring) dosed the water with Sulmet, and gave him medicated feed...he fully recovered in about a week. This past Fri. I found him outside the coop, laying down, I was able to pick him up (very unusual, he's usually very flighty) he had the same symptoms as before, ataxic, hard for him to walk, he was also anemic looking...I dosed him with levamasol, B-12, some black strap molasses, put more sulmet in the water, and gave him some abx feed. He's hanging in there, but not really getting any better, he's eating, I'm giving him mixed veggies in addition to his feed, and he's eating that up, but he just doesn't look too good. Will probably take him in to my vet in the am (if he's still with us) Any idea what could be going on? He's a sweet little dude, I'd hate to lose him. This is Ziggy. Silver Spangled Spitz...taken about a week ago.
