I hope the vet is able to see her.

Let me know what you find out.
Sorry for the delay in getting back. I took her into the vet, who I adore. After looking her over and discussing her symptoms, she felt in her medical opinion that Mary-Kate had Mareks. Bumble foot was also present but not the reason for her decline. To save MK from a long suffering death (which she had as already showing signs of depression), we made the choice to send her off with the chickens above. She was sent to a local creamatorium and her ashes will be spread in an orchard in the sun. Thank you all for your assistance with my many questions! Love this group! My vet also follows this page as well and noted that it was a wonderful resource for chicken owner :). I let the rest of my girls know the news when I got home, but her sister Ashley came to my back door today to check and make sure I wasn’t holding MK in here still like I had all last week. It’s weird and sweet to see animals show feelings. Anyhow, hopefully this thread proves useful to someone going through similar issues.

I'm sorry to hear about Mary-Kate:hugs

I'm glad you were able to see the Vet and make a decision.

Chickens can and do form bonds and for a short period seem to miss one another.

Thank you for the update, I'm sure the thread will be helpful to others.

I was wondering how she was doing. Sorry to hear this. In some ways chickens are so resilient and then there are times when it’s best to let them go. I’m glad you have a vet that you trust!
