To make a long story shorter..I wound up with a chick about 6 weeks old. Of course, the next day it doesn't look like it feels good. Thank goodness I heeded all of the warnings about quarentining new birds. One eye was swollen, and it seemed lethargic. I gave Duramycin, Poly-vi-sol, etc..At first it looked a little better, but now I don't think so. It eats well and poops look ok..BUT, regardless of what it is, most of these illnesses seem to make the bird a carrier. SO...I need to cull it. There is no way I want any of that crap spreading through my flock (if it doesn't already). I've tried to be careful, but I also need prayers...and give me the strength to kill the chick-I may get my Dad to it...
Thanks, I feel a little better now..
