I think my 4 pr 5 week old chick seems to have coccidiosis so I've switched all the brooder chicks to water treated with Corid - a bit more than 1 tsp in a gallon of water, and I gave the sick 4 week old chick about a half a dropper full of the corid water. Then also I put 1 and a half tsp corid powder into 2 tsp water and gave her 1 drop at about 3pm. She is doing very very poorly right now. Does anyone have any advice? I've even tried to give a dropper of corid water but she is so listless and I don't want to have her breathe in the water! Advice on anything else to do? I think she'll die.
Does anyone have any idea if I should give her more, or how often? The corid water or the concentrated stuff one or two drops? And do you have any idea how likely she is to recover, or is it too late for her and only the ones without visible symptoms will be okay? No bloody stools, btw. The only symptom was listlessness and eyes closing and holding feathers out. I also saw a little bug, very small, on the feathers. Neck lice, maybe? I have found out that DE is not good for them so I didn't use that (though I did in the past.)
But she is hardly opening her eyes now.
Edited to add: She died. Poor little thing. I wish I could have done something to help her. : (
