Hi everyone. Fairly new at this. I have one chick (first one hatched, think it might be a male…very light colored ISA Brown chick and very aggressive with other chicks at first) I am now worried about. First night in brooder last night, temp was 95F when I went to bed. Woke up it was 85F! They were all sleeping huddled on top of each other. Got another lamp set up, got them warm. Everyone else seems fine…today they are all eating and drinking and pooping and chirping normally. That one is still very lethargic. Wakes up, eats a few bites and goes back to sleep. That’s it. Will chirp if I pick him up but then goes back to sleep pretty quickly. Offered him honey water. Again, takes a few sips them back to sleep. Have him separated now. Any suggestions? TIA.

95 is too high, 90 is good and they need cooler areas to cool off in. Try egg yolk water. What breeds are his parents?
All I know is they are ISA Browns. Their brooder box is pretty big. I was reporting thermometer temps right under the light. So I think they do have slightly cooler areas but will verify with thermometer and try the yolk water. Thank you!

Oh my gosh, the yolk water is like magic! He drank 5 or 8 big gulps. Night and day! He’s moving and chirping and active. Wants to go back with the girls I guess, lol! Thank you!

You're welcome! I'm glad it helped. Sometimes they need some extra nutrition from the yolk, sugar water only goes so far.
I ask what his parents are since if his parents are all isa brown (a sex link) he likely won't be sexable by color.
