Sick Chicken...NEED HELP

I have an 8 month old Rhode Island Red who has extremely bad diarrhea. Her entire rear end is matted down and covered in wet crap. It is also bloody at times. A couple weeks ago one of my EE's had diarrhea but she has recovered. The Rhode Island is bad, though, real bad. I don't what to do or if the eggs are safe to eat. I need advice ASAP.

Clean her rear and keep her dry- pasty butt can cause them to die because they can't poop. I am sure others will share what worked for them. Good luck!

can I get antibiotics at tractor supply?

you can get some antibiotics at feed stores, but look up the condition you are going to traet here in the search to see what others have used, not all antibiotics work on the same organisms. give her some electrolyte solution in her water too, make sure she is drinking

Well, I can get some tonight if I know what to get. What do I give a chicken with diarrhea? Can I give them save-a-chick solution? I have some of that left over.

sounds like cocci to me (due to the fact of the blood in the stools)

gonna need to get her some amprolium or sulmet

i prefer amprolium as its easier on their systems
