My chicken went thru a 7 day course of antibiotics (Enroflaxacin/Baytril) for what I thought could be salmonella. She was doing very well until today day 3 after the antibiotics stopped. I have her on rooster booster and a probiotic. She does not have sour crop, worms, or is egg bound. This morning she appears to be slow and getting sick again with tail down and looks overall weak. She is still eating and drinking... but just slow. She is very thin, even though she is eating and drinking. When this first started I had to tube feed her, she wouldn’t eat or drink at all, a few days of that and antibiotics she started perking up… she was doing ok. So this is the morning of day 3 and it looks to me as if she is regressing.. I just don’t know where to go from here. I can start another round of antibiotics, (amoxicillin) but not sure if it is rough on her. There is no avian vet in my area, I wish there were, I live in the mountains of east TN. Any help would be appreciated… Im starting to think it may be terminal…
