My hen, Ruthie Mae, has been showing signs of illness for about 3 weeks.
She is 3 years old and we have a small backyard flock of 3.
She is frequently seen with her tail down and spends most of the day sitting, occasionally seen standing on one leg. She is still producing eggs however at slightly decreased frequency. No signs of mites, respiratory distress or wounds anywhere. She is eating and drinking normally and I’ve increased electrolytes, stool is normal in color and consistency but she has started to defecate as she is sitting so stool is now starting to dry on her underside. Comb and wattle are not noticeably dull but she presents as lethargic.
