Sick chicken???

my chicken is making a very strange noise..... like a desperate cluck and opening her beak as if she is having trouble breathing. I have never had chickens before. Is she sick? If so what can I do? I have searched google and it says possible gape worms which a website suggested making a brine solution and pouring it down the throat, closing the nose holes for 5 seconds then holding the chicken by the feet and it will cough out the worms. This sounds a little crazy to me... HELP!!!

I would try oral Tylan for respiratory problems. It is sold at most feed stores. It won't cure gape worm but does fix most other minor respiratory problems. Is the "desperate cluck" a chicken cough?
