Sick chicken

Sorry it took so long to reply. Been working a lot. Just brought her in the house tonight. She's still gurgling but no other symptoms other than an occasional sneeze. Haven't been even able to check her crop yet. And no one else is showing symptoms. I looked in her mouth and I didn't see anything odd. That I know of. Will take food and water out here shortly and see if her crop is emptying by morning. But she is eating a lot fast like she's starving. And my chickens have access to food 24/7.

Thank you for the update, sneezing is probably an indication of some level of respiratory infection. Normal behavior is great, however I'd do some treatment research just to be safe.

Can you help a chicken get well if she has a broken egg inside of her. She has contraction and she cries and then yellowish fluid comes out of her.

Egg Yolk Peritonitis is will be the final result if this is the case. very common, sadly. I just lost my 18 month old 'Julie' to this last week. Short answer is 'maybe'. Its a serious condition often times with a very low percentage of success. Typically by the time we figure it out, the bird is close to death. Best you can really do at this point is take her to a vet. If that is not an option than try gently lubricating the vent opening with vegetable oil and have her separated from the rest of your flock just for treatment/observation accessibility. What happens if it is indeed a broken egg shell, some of it should pass. Some of the other pieces can cut the lining causing internal bleeding (Which was my case). Some times with a warm, calm environment they pass it without extreme issues. I would also recommend giving her healthy doses of Oregano or something for immune boosters in chickens. The chances of a severe bacterial infection are increased, even E. coli.

Ok thank you. What are the chances of the rest of the flock already having the same issue? Because no one else is showing any symptoms

Just as a precaution I would isolate until it is determined she is very ok. Chickens are amazing and wonderful on so many levels, they do have some weaknesses though..one being they spread disease to each other with great ease. Mites, ticks, lice, respiratory issues, etc. Once its figured out for good and treated if needed, simply integrate her back into your flock.

Ok thank you. So far she is still the same. I have her in my house so she's away from the rest of the flock.

Think she'll be just fine. Warm, fed, watered and maybe get he pumped up on some anti bacterial foods/additives to keep her cluck clucking. -) Keep us updated!
