We have 22 laying hens with roosters and for about 5 months we were averaging and 15 eggs a day. We brought in 10 more laying hens and 3 weeks ago. And we have been barely getting 3 eggs. Today we only got 1 They seem to all be getting along. I do think the chickens 10 new laying hens we recently purchased were old and barely laying. I have not noticed anything different in their behavior other than the eggs. Poop looks normal to me so I didn’t think sickness. It’s has been 90 degrees but have had access to water and shade. At a loss on what it could be. We have added chickens before and never had a problem. We did not quarantine new chickens. I know we should have. No signs of lice, didn’t think that would also stop them from laying over night. Any one have this happen before or have any idea

Adding new birds creates stress which will cause laying to stop or slow. When everyone feels more comfortable it may resume. Also bringing new birds can bring in new diseases that birds aren't familiar with, so it will cause an immune response which also can halt laying. Warmer weather will also slow production.
