I have a golden comet that is very lethargic, it is not compacted, and does occasionally eat and drink, mostly wet bread and some yogart. she is only eleven weeks old so she is not laying yet. i posted something the other day about it and i thought i was compacted, but i was wrong. she had been acting a bit better, so we took her back out to the chicken house. i found her this morning trampled by the other with her head stuck between the door and a brick. she is still alive, she will stand for a bit and then eventually lay on her side. i don't know what i can do and i feel so bad for her. as that we are new to this i would take any suggestions???

You can separate her from the others and keep her in a comfortable, dark place. Make sure she has plenty of water. You can give her cooled hard-boiled or scrambled eggs if she will not eat, that usually works to help get their appetites back.

Check her for lice and mites.

If she is dehydrated, you can mix 50-50 Pedialyte and water.

You should also try giving her vitamins. You can use Poly-Vi-Sol liquid baby vitamins (no iron) three drops a day on her beak for a week, then taper off.

If you can tell us how much she is eating and drinking, what her poop looks like (color and consistency) and what you normally feed her that might help someone with a diagnosis.

Good luck.
