Last night I posted saying my cornish X rooster was breathing very hard and laying his head down. I thought he was dying and I was advised to give him aspirin and cut his feed off until later today. I did that but still thought I would lose him last night. But today he seems to be doing fine. No more heavy breathing, he's running around chasing after me like he always does, flapping his wings, just being pretty active (for a Cornish X). I know their life span isn't too long but I hope he won't suffer. Thanks to everyone!! I was wondering if anyone knows how long can the Cornish X live if feed is monitored, etc.? Would I be punishing him to try and keep him going for a while, as I do not plan on eating him?

I think probably the best thing would be to cull him. As you know, they are not meant to live long. Sounds like he is having the typical heart and lung problems that they get when it is past time to process them.
