My ducklings and goslings arrived yesterday. The smaller of the bunch seems off. They were all running and playing but today it is less interested and seems sleepier. It cuddles when you hold it but it’s eyes don’t seem to open all the way at first. I decided to make sure it was at least getting electrolyte water so I poured in a separate dish and took it making it drink. So my concern is what do I do? How can I help it? What could be wrong with it?

Shipped birds especially the little ones go through a lot and it's very taxing on them. They often need several days to rest and regain their strength from the stress of it all. Keep an eye on it as well as the others, but at this point it very well might just need some rest. Make sure you're feeding duckling appropriate feed that has correct niacin levels and if you are really concerned you could grab a poultry vitamin supplement from your local feed store. My personal favorite is Poultry Cell for a quick pick-me-up especially because it does contain niacin as well as other essential nutrients.
