Hi, I have a buff laced polish hen and today i noticed she was sleeping in the coop during the day. I googled if it was normal and it says it sometimes is but i dont think this is normal sleeping because I let all my hens out into the yard and later on found her sleeping on the ground… I have delt with two lethargic chicks before so I have her maple syrup with egg yolk and a bit of water mixed up. She ate a bit then spilled it šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø and I gave her a separate bowl of water and made her sip some so it can go down. She is still somewhat okay since I found her grooming herself, walking a little bit, shaking her body, cleaning her beak, looking around and jumping up on something. We are having a hurricane come in soon and we might get hit pretty hard so they have to be put in a large dog cage that isnt really spacious with the food and water in there. I dont want to find her dead in some hours so please help. We might bring her to the vet but if the close or wont be able to take her I would like some advice if she worsens. Though right now her condition is not too bad, mostly staying in one spot. Unfortunately we don’t have vitamin e or any supplements for chickens we are planning to but we haven’t ordered any. Also she started laying a while ago but she hasnt layed regularly. Only 1 every few days and they are small is that normal? She is 6months and 2 weeks. Also her poop looks normal its just the white part is a little runny.

I'm sorry no one saw this yet. How did you and your chickens make out? How old is the sick hen? Is her crop emptying fully overnight? Is she eating and drinking on her own? Poop normal?
