Sick hen help please!

From my own experience, that’s normal. They’re prolific layers, but sometimes I might get only 2-3 eggs in a week from a particular hen. As long as they’re laying normal eggs, no need to worry. Provide a dish of oyster shell at all times.

I suppose that's why it seems odd it could be an egg bound issue since she laid yesterday late morning. I'm still going to do the extra dosed, liquid calcium (she has oyster shell but doesn't eat it). Just seems strange

Laying takes a lot of effort to begin with. When something’s off, the extra care will get her back on track. Keep her comfortable and stress-free (along with the dosage @Wyorp Rock recommends), and your hen will get herself back on track. Keep us updated.

A sad update for people. I provided the correct dose of calcium and continued to try to provide water with electrolytes. She seemed to be doing better this morning and pooped but degraded again by the afternoon. She ended up passing away in my arms this afternoon. I'm glad i was holding her but I'm crushed.
