My mother-in-law has a really sick hen and she’s wanting help with how to treat her.
She looks like she could have pasty butt because her vent is covered in poop and she is lethargic. She has given me the following information:
She isn’t sure what kind of hen but it’s 4 yrs old and 7 lbs. She is thinner than her other hens.
She is not active and does not scratch the ground anymore. She has been acting different for about 4 months now. The other hens seem healthy and fine.
There is no bleeding or injury or any evidence that she has been hurt.
Eating scraps/ cracked corn
Poop- some runny, some white, some red
She has given her Apple cider vinegar and water, sprays bottom occasionally with soapy water
I am waiting on some pictures from my mother in law but thought I would send this in the meantime.
