Sick Hen

One of my babies started vomiting tonight. It’s yellow and has happened two or three times. She’s also pooping regularly, eating, drinking, running, flying, etc. What could it be? I’ve separated her from the flock until I know what’s going on.

I don’t have any pictures of the vomit. She’s 24 weeks old. They were picking at a tiny tree frog tonight… she ate a leg and one hen swallowed the rest whole.

She may have sour crop.

Did the vomit smell bad? Sour smell? How does her crop feel? If you tip her forward does any liquid ooze out?

No smell (it was on my shirt so I was very close to it). Her crop feels slightly hard.

Slightly firm but not enlarged. She’s pooping still but I haven’t seen her regurgitate again.

Maybe she's having the start of sour crop since it's not emptying.

I didn't catch it in one of my hens, I lost her when she aspirated the liquid that built up in her crop.

Side note, it may be worth checking your feed, make sure it doesn't smell musty. I once read a post here that the feed was mildewy and caused the girls to get sick.
