Sick Hen

Under 8 month hen who is lethargic, has this weird rattling cough, has lost all the feathers in her throat and just coughed up some discharge- no diarrhea, but the opposite, really dry poop. I put some electrolytes into the water with some ginger but love some ideas of something to do. Worried about the whole flock.

How does her crop feel—empty and flat, full, hard, doughy, or puffy soft? Are others pulling her feathers out, or is she molting? Have you added any new chickens recently to your flock?

I can’t feel anything in her crop- empty and flat. She’s not moulting and the others aren’t touching her-she seems to be scratching at her throat and that was pulling the feathers out. I did add two new chickens but that was post quarantine and both are doing fine- no symptoms. She’s also had two poops since I’ve been watching her more closely- one was only white but the other was really dark and sticky

She may have something in her throat. I had to get a long piece of grass out of a chicken's mouth/throat. She was going bonkers scratching and sneezing.
