sick leghorn hen need info.

i got a leghorn hen 21 weeks old has a rattle and seems tired. or sleepy.all my other chickens are fine or seem fine. cleaned out and added pine shavings last weekend to the coop for the first time have been using straw. could this have anything to do with my problem. and i started giving teramycin today.anything elses i should do.?

I would also try a little apple cider vinegar in her waterer. Is she drinking and eating? If not you may need to seperate her so you can keep a better eye on her.

That's a good sign. Do you have any acv? I put it in the waterers whenever I have one that looks under the weather.

Apple Cider Vinegar with the mother...the one with the stuff in the bottom that looks like Sangria is the one to use.
I wouldn't use antibiotics unless you KNOW that there's an infection.
Could she be moulting or could she be eggbound?
How are her droppings?
Any other symptoms?

she just started today . acv ok gota get it . if she is egg bound how do ya know. i have other hens that lay i cant see who lays .dropping are fine.shes not molting.this was taken sunday of her and the man in her life.

have a faecal done (any vet can do this>take a sample in) to see if there is cocci or worms ... both of these will produce the symptoms you are seeing and they require different meds (which is why you need to get tested)

still no change tried acv and giving teramycin. any sugestions. cant find a vet close who knows anything about chickens.maybe time .?
