Hi there everyone I'm from new Zealand.. I purchased quails 3 months ago as pets ..2females and 1 male.they are laying eggs all over the show ...the babies develop in egg they get so far then die inside of egg maybe due to cold .. so i brought a incubator ...eggs are hatching now.. but my last 2 was peaking and didn't hatch ..so I took them out and tried opening the shell one of them was dead ...the other started to bleed so I put vaseline on it and placed back in incubator ..next day checked and it still didn't hatch ..so I carefully broke more shell off and placed back in incubator .. last night it hatched out ..looks lifeless left it in incubator over night ...today still the same ..i gave it a few drops of water for the first time half an hour ago ...is there anything else I can do? How often do i need to feed her she's not moving just breathing not even chirping ..sorry she's in food don't know how she got in there going to move her now

The others have become extremely energetic so I have taken her out and placed her back into incubator ... given her another 3 drops of water she looks like she has hiccups or maybe jerking head back in a rhythm

Welcome, glad you have joined us.

Sorry about your losses and the sick baby.

In addition to posting under the Quail forums, I would suggest you also post under emergencies.

I have no experience with hatchings or ill newly hatched quail or chicks - but she/he sounds like there's a serious problem and likely will not make it.
Have you tried electrolytes or sugar water?
