I just can't stop taking pictures of them! It's like having your first child. I'm sure you take a ton of pictures the first time around, but by the time baby number two comes around the camera is collecting dust! Anyway, here are some more pictures of the ladies chillin' on the garden fence

And this was yesterday, when I had them locked up because we were *supposed to* get a hurricane. It's like they were going to hold me up until I let them out to play!

Yes, they are! They are the silliest of the bunch...they run into corners and constantly get left behind when the rest of the pack is exploring...as a matter of fact, one just walked into my KITCHEN from the open garage door squawking because she couldn't find the flock!

They're so cute! I had one do that to me today, she was standing outside the door just yelling her little head off. I went running thinking that something was after her! Nope, she was lonely and couldn't figure out where everyone else was! She even had my roo come running to see what was going on ;p I think I now understand "Chicken Little" a bit better.

What do you plan to do for the hurricane in regard to your chickens? Do you have the coops high up?
Just wondering. I live in Jacksonville FL so we have had a little flooding but not much but all the coops can keep the girls about 4 feet off of the ground just in case of flooding.

The hurricane was all hype here, just windy and a little rain. But since I considered what the news said to be true (that it was basically going to be armageddon out there), I moved the ladies into our garage. It's where we built their coop, and they've spent time in there before. They snuggled onto the DH work bench and weathered it out just fine

Sorry to hear about your flooding! Good thinking with raising the coop. Ours is so heavy, it took six men to lift out of our garage, so raising it is not an option!
