Hi all, we were heading out on a camping weekend trip and we found a white pigeon near our yard before we left. We thought it must have been someone's pet because he seemed tame. My kids put him in our coop before we headed out, my husband and I should have known better, but we didn't think about diseases and such. We got back 3 days later and the pigeon is very lethargic and has green poop droppings. Now I'm extremely worried that the bird has a disease and will pass it on to our chickens....or to our eggs. Help, is there anything we can do?! I'm so upset with myself for letting the pigeon be put out there
Thanks in advance

Edit to add:
Now looking back In retrospect I'm thinking the pigeon may not have been "tame" but possibly just sickly or lethargic then. The chickens have left the bird alone so it could eat/drink if it wanted to, but it still isn't.

If it's domestic, I wouldn't worry too much for disease at this point.
Remove it if you haven't and put up flyers or Facebook found ads.
It could be lethargic and with green poop from not eating, the chickens may not be letting them eat.

Thank you for the reply, I suppose I should have clarified more. Now looking back In retrospect I'm thinking the pigeon may not have been "tame" but possibly just sickly or lethargic then. The chickens have left the bird alone so it could eat/drink if it wanted to, but it still isn't. I took the bird out of the coop last night when we got back. Just concerned as to what it might have or pass on to my chickens
I did post an ad on a local city group on fb about the pigeon, if anyone had lost it, but received no replies
