I have a pullet who appears to have paralysis in both her legs. She will only eat or drink a little here or there. Can she be saved? I'm not sure what happened.

Hi City Chicks,
welcome to the BYC forum. So sorry to hear about your pullet. Although there are a number of diseases that can affect chickens and cause paralysis, my mind goes to Marek's Disease, when ever I hear about paralysis.

Isolate this sick one from your flock ASAP........

Sadly Marek's is not a disease that can be cured.

Here is a link to a page where I have collected/am collecting Marek's facts. There a lot of links here...maybe if you read up on some of the symptoms, you can narrow down for the BYC community what your pullet has.

It helps too, to know the age and breed.

Hopefully it isn't Marek's. It frequently stirkes just when a pullet is maturing...and is more frequent in females than males.
