Hello,

I haved a sick 5 month old Roo Wyandotte. He's been sick for over a week now and on terramycin. His original symptoms were wobbliness, nasal discharge, and closed eyes. After 7 days of terramycin his eyes are both open but he still wobbles.

After inspecting him I've found red mites on him. I typically use DE all around their coop but he has been kept in isolation with no DE. Currently I am out of DE, is there anything else I can use that's easier to find? 7 Dust? Can you put that on them and their bedding? Any other ideas?

Also, can mites cause them to get wobbly?

Thanks!

Sounds more like lice! Permethrins liquid, sell it for equine or goat wash
spray directly on the bugs and any eggs on base of feathers on belly/bum. Tylan 50 injection 1/2 cc works wonders for extended illness after treatment give them some yogurt to jump start their tummies

Dust has never worked for me, it only gets clumped onto there vent and makes a place for the mice or lice to live. I would try to find frontline plus for dogs, adams flea and tick spray, and give them a bath trying to rinse them off but try not to put to much stress on the birds.

I would check all your other birds and make sure they dont have them either. I had several birds die from mited, but sounds like you have lice.
