sick silkie chick

I Have a 8 day old Silkie and its sick... yesterday morning I went out to feed and water them and it was just sitting there. When I picked it up it did not wiggle or peep... then later on I went out to check on it and it was laying and would not get up it had its eyes shut and would not open them... so we called the hatchery and they said to give it something with eletctro light in it.. so we called the mill they had a antibiotic called vetrex with it in it. I gave it some 3 times yesterday and when I went out in the evening it was getting better. it was walking around with the other chicks it was peeping. Then this morning I went out and it was still ok I got it to eat a little and it was drinking... I kept checking on it all day and then this evening it went down hill again... its got the same symptoms as before... so I gave it more vetrex and white I was holding it it started to stand again and it had its eyes oped and was looking around... but when i was hold it it was shaking not like a cold shake it was just shaking...so does anyone know what's wrong and if so how to cure it?? Thanks so much!!!

Im pretty sure that's what it had.. but after we called the vet to get it some antibiotics I went out to check on it and it had died ... but thanks for helping now I know what to look for in case any of my other silkie chicks get sick!!
