Sick Silkie

Ever since I put my Silkie, Harry, in with some other Silkies he's been sick

. When he first became sick I noticed he and the other chickens had mites so I thought maybe that was why he had become so skinny, mopey, and with runny poo. I dusted the chickens and getting rid of the mites was a success but Harry didn't seem to get back to his old self. So, I began putting grower/starter in their feeder and giving them plain yogurt every other day and I also gave them Gatorade in their waterer. I think the Gatorade might have helped some but I haven't tried it again. I also put Wazine wormer in their waterer sometime after the Gatorade and that didn't help either. Even with Harry eating the grower/starter he still hasn't gained any weight. He also shakes his head like he has mites but when I check him he doesn't have any.

I have tried everything I can think of to help him and nothing seems to help. I would appreciate any advice I can get

How old is Harry? Was he in quarantine for at least a month before you put him in with the others? What were you feeding him before? How long has he had symptoms?

You will need to isolate him from the other birds, ASAP, in case he is contagious. It could be that he contracted something that the other birds are carriers for, but you really don't want to risk it.

Sorry this is happening, I know it's rough having an ill bird. I'm sure someone more knowledgeable than me will chime in.

Thanks so much! I really don't know how old he is because I got him from an auction. I was feeding him Scratch feed before. I think he did get it from the other birds because they seemed to be sick when I first got them but had gotten better so I didn't think anything about it when I put Harry with them. He had been in a pen with three different Silkies before but I did some moving around with the chickens. He's been sick for a couple of weeks. Thanks for helping!
