This poor girl, it's not the first time she's had an eating problem. I de- caked her bottom and turned her upside down and fluid came out but every time she bends down to eat more fluid comes out. I tried stroking her neck to see if something was stuck. Last time I gave her some mineral oil and slowly fed her up and she bounced back. It doesn't look good and I don't want her to suffer. Any ideas? Advice? TIA
Update:
She made it thru the nite and I did some investigating and thought it sounded like sour crop. I made some garlic water but in the mean time (while waiting for a syringe to be dropped off) I offered her some probiotic drink with a little cooked rice in it. (Yesterday I could tell she wanted to eat, but as I said fluid was coming out of her beak when she bent down). Well that's not happenening now and she seems very happy to be able to eat/drink this concoction. Since it is a probiotic and she's improving, I'm hopeful she will make a full recovery. Lesson learned to keep an extra eye on this one, if she isn't eating, pooping as she should. She's a sweet little bird and even tho she's not laying anymore she's still a part of our flock <3
