I have a silky that will not open her eyes, I have been giving her Oxytetracycline HCI for 6 days at first she would eat good now she is eating less. The vet said she probable has a upper respiratory infection. I've tried yogurt, wet food scrambled eggs, help please.

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! It sounds like you are doing all you can for your silkie especially if you have already had her to the vet. Did the vet give you the meds? It can take a few days for them to get into the system and start to work so I would continue what you are doing. Keep her warm nice and quiet so she can get plenty of rest to re cooperate.
You could also post in the emergencies injuries disease and cure section for further help. Here is the link ~ https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/10/emergencies-diseases-injuries-and-cures

Wishing you the very best of luck, I hope she is well again soon :fl

It is hard to watch them go down hill and not eating. I am having some issues in my flock as well this week and I know how difficult it is on you.

I sure hope she will be ok. Keep us posted!

Welcome to the BYC flock! We are glad you joined us, though I wish it were under better circumstances!

Have you spoken with your vet recently? Do they know your little gal is going downhill? Did they leave you with any further directions or advice? If it is a respiratory infection, did they give you any medication for her?
