At the agriculture farm at school there is one hen. The only chook in the school. No one looks after it at all, even the teacher does not care about it. She is a very pretty little silver lace. I sorta took on the responsibility to look after her. Like checking her feed and water.
But she is a sick little thing. She has a very bad case of scaly mite. She is also fed cattle feed (Grain and some powdery stuff). She is very skinny and all by herself. I will treat her for scaly mite but I am reading all sorts of treatments, what is the best way to treat it?
Can scaly mite spread from one to another? How can I get rid of it if it is running about in the coop? Does it pass on to us?
Also she has these black spotty looking thing on her eyelids and her eyes are partly shut. She can only see you if you come very close to her and then she panics. I have no idea what the black things are and I have researched it but I can not find anything. Does anyone have any idea on what it may be?
