Sick Turkey Hen!

One of my 2 hen turkeys has been acting "off". Constance is 2 yrs old and was always the friendly needing attention bird. About a week ago she became stand-offish and would move away when I approached her. Today she was just laying in the coop when I opened up the door and just layed there when I petted her. Help! Any ideas???

Any ideas???

More information is needed. The behavioral change that you are indicating may have something to do with her health or it may simply be due to molting. Other posters have indicated that it is normal for their sweetheart of a hen to not want to be touched when she is molting. While my turkeys are not pets, it is easy to see that they are not comfortable when they are molting and do not display their usual actions or activity.
