We recently got 6 baby Pekin ducklings and 5 have grown large and sturdy. One however is not and he ( or she) tends to fall over and lay down with his head sideways often. We brought him to the vet and got vitamins and were told to feed him separately so he got enough food. The vet suggested taking xrays of his leg and thought maybe that was the issue but his neck doesn’t seem strong either. We lI’ve this little guy but it is Very costly For the xrays, etc. Does anyone have any similar experiences like this or suggest anything else to try, before we do the xrays and blood work?
Thank you in advance for your suggestions !

Hi, Welcome to BackYard Chickens!

Sorry to hear about your duckling, does she look like this sometimes?

If so, that's known as "star gazing" which can be caused by a various amount of things, but with ducklings malnutrition, toxin ingestion, or neurological damage seem to be the most prevalent when young. I'm assuming your vet thinks this is nutritionally related since he recommends vitamins, what kind did he give you, at what dosage, and how are you giving it to her, thiamine and a deficiency in vitamin E will cause problems like this. Posting a picture or video of your duckling would be very helpful.
