side turners vs. standing turners...which is better?

Shipped eggs? Local eggs? I've been hearing that standing is better for shipped, due to dislodged air-cells and side is better for local or intact eggs. I've been starting to put the shipped eggs, even with loose air-cells, into the side turners and getting better results than the standing turners. What have you all been experiencing? Post your machine model experience. Local/shipped.

I use a MagicFly Janoel 12 and have had great hatches 90%+ on shipped and local eggs. It has a side turner. I like the more natural method. These were my shipped quail eggs, I patched a couple dented eggs with nail polish. All of these hatched except for one infertile one and one early quitter. I let them settle for 8 hours before I set them.

Those sure are pointy eggs! What type of quail are they? The last time I saw pointy eggs like that it was a Phoenix.

They're Bobwhite eggs. Really? That's interesting. I thought that's how they were supposed to be, lol. Those are the first bobwhite quail I've ever had, so I'm leatning as I go.

These babies are 21 weeks old now, hoping for some eggs from them soon! I was hoping I'd get some in time to color them for Easter, but I'm not sure I will lol. Fingers crossed
