My 3.5 year old hen, Parsley, was spayed one month ago. She is doing great but is now in a nest and growling at me. I have an intercom radio in there so I can listen to the girls at night, she tucked that underneath her and is growling.
I have to be very aware of possible signs of ovulation because she will probably need an implant to stop that from happening since there is now no way for the egg to pass out.
I was told by the head vet tech, that she will probably not be actually ovulating but showing signs of behavior that is common if other hens are laying.
She became agitated because my EE was laying this morning now she is in the next growling at me. She has been sitting for about 20 minutes thus far.
So....what are the tell tale signs of actual ovulation?
Thanks for your patience!
