My silkie, ZA ZA fst time layer 2 eggs so far.They a big eggs for such a little thing I thinks considering her size these eggs are about medium regular eggs

Some of my smallest hens lay my biggest eggs. For example, my Leghorn hens lay huge white eggs, and they're pretty dainty birds. That being said, my Silkies all laid small eggs. Even the ones that were on the larger size. You said she just started. I've also gotten some crazy eggs from new layers. Tiny ones, big ones, soft ones, ugly ones......you get my drift. I'd keep an eye on her to make sure the large eggs aren't causing her problems, and hope they level out to a normal size as things start working a little more efficiently. Good luck!

She seems O.K. I have seen hen laying and I don' think she is in pain. She is different from others like RIR these are noisy before and after they lay. I am glad I know the spot she lays, outside by the garden. I am so proud of her.
