Looks like a boy to me.. a better shot of the head would help.. but if I see what I think I'm seeing in that blurry pic, I see pink skin which=wattles.. at 5 weeks? not on a girly I've seen... course I've only seen a few dozen, about half boys

looks like my buff orp girls! I vote girl....mine are 8 weeks, but the one i have that is a rooster sure looked more like a rooster than that - even 3 weeks ago! girl girl girl...

ahhhh gorgeous tennessee. I lived near Mountain City or Johnson or something like that ...hahah forget. I was a teenager at the time. But I loved it!

Well, she's still silently crowing~ I only catch her doing it at night and she acts so girly that I have decided she is a girl until further development. I caught her on video with her little crows once- but the video is not the best. It was from a few weeks ago- I'll get some updated pictures soon.

Well that was interesting! That's not yawning...it's almost like she might be deaf.

I have seen my established hens fight and crow when a new comer is introduced. It does not last long, but these hens get the job done.

Then they all go back to laying eggs. So, this is not abnormal, especially when no roo is present or your ladies have an established pecking order. Heck I have seen the "older ladies" take on a few new roos in the barn.

Really they are nothing to play with and they insist on their dominance over the flock.
