HI,I have two silican butter cups, any one else out there with full grownones? My silican buttercups are 1/2 the size of buff orpingtons and dark brahamas who are the same age. They're TINY comparedto the full grown RIR, Golden Sexlink, barred rock and silverlakenvelder. Any ideas?

I have one Buttercup (hatched five but only kept Buddy) and she is bantam size. I think Buttercups are only in bantam size but I could be wrong. I've noticed that they mature slower than other breeds.

Buttercups come in both sizes of Bantams and Standard sized. I used to raise them on the farm but they grow just as readily as other white egg layers but they lay a little later than most. The girls were of Leghorn size. I think it may have been genetics or feeding if they are so small unless they are specified as bantams if your buttercups are smaller than the rest of the breeds. If you got bantams, they should be near that size, a little bigger but not as taller as Leghorns.

Beautiful birds!
