My Silkie hasn't been been perching like the other girls, she just has been perching on the lip of the nesting box.
Ever since I can remember she's done that, although she fine when I put her on the perches at night. I just don't know how to teach to go on the perches.

Do any of you guys know how to prevent her from doing that?

This is super common for silkies. Sometimes silkies have a harder time reaching the roosts than other chickens so people build them special silkie ladders so they can reach the roost. My nest boxes are vertical so my hen just hops on the second box then onto the roost if she wants.

Silkies have poor vision because of their big crests and beards. Also their wing feathers aren't like other breeds of chicken - they aren't good fliers. If you had a number of silkies you'd find they usually sleep in a pile on the floor of a coop.

People tend to think silkies and polish are dumb when it's not lack of brains, it is obscured vision. If they have their crests and beards cut back they are alert and active like other breeds.

OK, I will try cutting back her feathers on the head and maybe build or get her a silkie ladder, perhaps that will help. Thanks!
