I know about the genetics of the color blue in chickens. But my question is this I have black silkies and white silkies in the same pen. So when a black roo and a white hen cross do you get a splash or a off blue or something different? Thanks in advance

The white hides what is in the genetic history of the birds, I have read on BYC.

So when you cross them you could get anything in the history of the birds, for color. But white on white should be white, of course.

Breeders don't like to cross with white since they don't know what the color of the offspring will be.
