Your chick has smooth feathering. The father is homozygous for silkie feathering and doesn't have the frizzle gene. The mother is either heterozygous for silkie feathering or homozygous for non silkie feathering. She is heterozygous for the frizzle gene, meaning she has one frizzle allele and one nonfrizzle allele.
Your chick inherited a silkie allele from its father and a non-silkie allele from its mother. The silkie gene is recessive so it needs to be homozygous to expresss. It inherited a nonfrizzle allele from its father and its mother. Therefore, it has smooth feathering.
