Hi everyone

1st time incubating and hatching. We have a nutrena 360 and 10 silkie eggs.
Today is Saturday at 448 pm.1 chick hatched day 18 which was yesterday friday at 10 am ( 2 hours after I out eggs on lockdown).
2nd egg starting pipping this am around 530 or 6.
Now the hatched silkie chick is fully fluffy. When is it safe to remove and when is it not safe to remove (pipping process or zipping process).
Nutrena 360 is currently at 100.0 degrees f and 76% humidity.
the hatched chick is trying to get water on bottom of incubator so we would like to get it out. But dont want to damage the pipped egg and other 8 eggs

Others might not recommend but in my experience, you can open up the incubator for short periods of time. I’m not that responsible with the lockdown period and open the incubator to check on progress frequently and we haven’t had any shrink wrap problems related to it. I would think it would be fine to open up just long enough to take out a chick.

Hi!! Thank you so much.
Does the greatest risk with humidity drop occur during pipping or zipping?
