Hope this is the right place to post this.

These chicks hatched yesterday—bought eggs, not my own. I’m trying to decide which ones to keep. I could use help figuring out their colors. These were all from the breeders blue pen...

This one is a very very pale yellow, almost white. I though splash, but there are no markings?

I think I see two blues and a black?

I'm not great at telling the difference between splash and blue, but that first chick doesn't look like either to me. Which is very possible, considering silkies; they're recessive white, which means that a bird can carry the white gene without ever showing it. If two of those birds breed, 1/4 of their offspring will be completely white.

From what little I know of silkies, those look like pretty good quality chicks. Good luck.

@sylviethecochin Thanks so much for chiming in! I bought the eggs from an avid breeder/exhibitor. I have a thing for “really good hair” lol, and I will probably dabble with breeding at some point.

Initially I thought the same for the blues/blk, then I
Started questioning myself because of the yellow on one of them. As for the first chick.. that’s good to know! It’s yellow, but it’s so light it is almost a silver white, if that makes any sense. Maybe it will turn into a nice bright white.
