Silkie chicks with pink and black toes?

I have a pair of black silkies and decided to hatch some of their eggs. I have 5 chicks and they all have pink on their toes. Some have at least 3 toes that are completely pink and the other toes are black. I have read that some will hatch with pink on the tips of their toes but the entire toe is pink on mine. Can anyone help me understand what has happened??

It is not uncommon. In most cases the toes will darken as the bird ages. I would bet that by the time they are 2 or 3 months old you won't see any toes with light skin.
