Silkie chicks

Hi all,I have 3 silkie eggs due to hatch in around 5 days time.They are with their Mum,when they hatch should I leave them outside or to give them a better chance put them under a heat lamp inside? Many thanks in advance

Depends on the temp outside - Here in Illinois outside is 5 degrees - Usually though they will do fine with mom - she will keep them warm. If you are concerned however - it doesn't hurt to take the chicks & put them in a brooder for a while.
