Silkie Chicks

I have 3 silkie chicks that we are keeping. They are 5 weeks old now. When will it be safe to put them out in the pen with the big silkies?

no the older ones will hurt them

Thats is why I am asking when it will be ok to put them out there,

I put mine out when they are all the same size

I don't put my young ones in with the mature ones until they are close to laying age. Not only do you have to worry about the older ones hurting them, the babies are too young for the excess calcium feed that layers eat. Nutrition and safety need to be considered.
