Wondering if anyone can help me with the colors of these silkie chicks. I've had others hatch in the past that were this color but I never held onto them long enough to determine what color they ended up being. I have another pair, they were both hatched with "Partridge" like markings, not so much the partridge color but the line down their backs, "specked" looking faces...This is what they look like today....

This is the one with more reddish/light brown coloring in it:

This one has the same markings but is mostly white/gray:

The first ones look like a partridge mixed with a Buff and the last one maybe a Splash?

Funny thing is when I googled Porcelain Silkie Chicks a couple of days ago, they looked just like these chicks did when they hatched. How are people getting this Porcelain color that are trying to improve on? These two came from a Dark Blue Roo over a Splash Hen, however the blue roo was split to lavender so I'm wondering if that is where this funky color is coming from??

You need a Lavender over Buff. then you should get your porcelain...

Interesting....So we have the lavender, wonder where this buff color is coming from. Unless one of these girls has is it in their background somewhere.
