silkie crowing volume

does anyone have any suggestions about how to make a rooster crowing not seem so loud? i was told that silkies do not crow as loud as other chickens. is that true? my roos are too young to crow yet. am willing to do extra coop things to soften noise so i can keep neighbors happy.

I find what works really well for me are silicone ear plugs (the bright pink ones so you can find them without contacts) and a large pillow (like for reading, but flipped upside down over my head). The combo is pretty much crow-proof! Some people have insulated their coops for noise, not sure what they used for that. Going outside and yelling "shut up Big Bird" does not work at all!
