Hello, I have Silkie Eggs going on lockdown tomorrow, & I have a couple Orpington eggs that'll be on day 14 tomorrow, should I turn them until their hatch day, or leave them still with the rest?

I've heard after day 14 turning isn't really needed nearly as much so you'd probably be fine not turning. I've stopped turning as early as day 16 myself and didn't seem to run into any problems.

As long as there are no external pips it should be pretty safe to quickly open the incubator to turn if you are anxious about leaving them unturned though.

Good luck, I hope both hatches go really well! :)

:goodpost:

Yeah, you don't have to turn them. I've even had them hatch right with the older ones! So if you're lucky, you might actually have them all hatch. Anyway though, you don't need to turn them. Lock them all down together, so you don't compromise the hatch. Good luck!

I’m in the same situation. 4 eggs are due tomorrow and 6 are due on Monday.
On the 4 eggs, 2 pipped, one is rocking so much when I whistle, and one is still for now.
I can’t open the incubator to check on the 6 others but I hope they can make it even if the humidity is high too soon for them!

Day 16 is the earliest I've set eggs on lockdown before without any problems. Day 14 is a bit too early I heard.

Good advice though, I think I may keep turning my Orpington eggs until day 16 to stay on the safe side.
