I had silkie eggs sitting outside. The temp just drop to to 25°. Will the eggs survive? Please let me know. I am new to this fancy breed of chickens.
Thanks

Hi:) Is the silkie hen sitting on the egg? I've never hatched an egg before but am currently hatching a few under my silkie! If the hen wasn't sitting on it there is a low chance of it surviving in that weather. If you really want them to hatch but the hen isn't sitting on them, you should google home made incubators and maybe you could still hatch them! Best wishes! Good luck!!

My hen is not sitting on it. For the last 2 nights the temp had gone down to 25°. I'm afraid it damage the eggs. I took the eggs this morning and brought them inside. Will the the eggs survive? I just ordered an incubator should receive it in couple of days. Just want to know if the damage had been done to those eggs.:-(

I would think if the eggs were not protected from the cold (by insulation or other means) they are not likely to hatch. If you could candle them when they come up to room temperature at least, You might check for any signs of development., before ordering an incubator.

I read some of the posts and give me little hope that those silkie eggs will hatch. I will give it a shot. Thanks.
